API 5L X65 grade pipes are carbon steel pipes fabricated for specific purposes. The X65 grade comes under higher category of pipes because of their better mechanical properties. Carbon being the base metal other metals are added to form a this alloy with better resistance to various crevice corrosion and pitting. The X65 alloy pipes are also known as ISO 3183 L450 pipes, where the X denotes the mechanical yield strength of 450 MPa or 65300 Psi and minimum tensile strength of 585 Mpa or 77600 Psi. This mechanical properties helps the metal with better formability and ductility.
This pipes are usually fabricated in seamless and welded forms and are used differently in different applications. Though the welded ones are comparatively inexpensive and good to use the buyers usually prefer the seamless formed pipes which are either hot rolled or cold drawn and has better durability and workability. The chemical components helps the metal prevent rusting and epoxy coating resist it from stress corrosion cracking, this features makes the pipes makes it one of the versatile pipes. All these features and specifications help the pipe succor in high-pressure conditions and under extremely hot temperatures. Hence they are widely used in onshore and offshore services by various commercial sectors and industries.
These API 5L X65 carbon pipes are designed for certain applications like transportation of various fluids and gases in the petrochemicals industry, Sugar industry, fertilizers industry, textile, mining, automobile, construction, power generation, and many more. Its inexpensive rates and longer durability make it a favorable choice among buyers.
