Alloy steel P5 pipes are one of the most versatile grades of pipes available in the market. This grade has a widespread application across many commercial sectors. While the key component of this alloy is the combination of chromium oxide and molybdenum which improves its high-temperature strength and retention of smooth structure. The chromium content also enables increased resistance from oxidation and pitting, along with increased yield and tensile strength of 205 MPa and 415 MPa respectively, and maintains the hardness of the P5 alloy.
Parallel to that molybdenum helps increase the strength and also provides resistance from crevice corrosives in extreme conditions. It also increases the elastic limit and impact qualities with improved toughness. These components help the alloy from the formation of grains and make it less susceptible to embrittlement. It also enhances resistance to creep strength in high temperatures.

These chrome moly alloy pipes have significant usage in various applications like refineries, sugar factories, Machine building, oil and gas industry, chemical processing, fertilizer, petrochemical, heat exchangers, condensers, pharmaceuticals, and many more. The alloy is mostly reluctant to rust and provides usage in moderate to very high temperatures ranging from 870 Degree C to 1230 Degree C. The addition of molybdenum also helps the metal work extremely well in marine conditions protecting from various underwater corrosives.
While the Alloy steel P5 pipes are fabricated in different thicknesses ranging from ½” NB to 30” NB, with customizable shapes, sizes, ends, and dimensions as per the customer’s want.
